Berger Paints aims Rs 7,000 cr revenue in four years

Paints major Berger Paints Ltd said it aims to become a Rs 7,000 crore company in the next four years. "We have to grow 20 per cent year-on-year to double our revenue from Rs 3,300-3,500 crore now. New concepts and products will help us in achieving the goal," Berger managing director Abhijit Roy said. Berger is planning to enhance its production capacity to 34,000 tonne per month from 20,000 tonne a month by mid-2013, he said. BPL aims to become a Rs 7,000 crore company in the next four years, Roy added.

Meanwhile, Berger today announced association with designer Sussanne Roshan, wife of actor Hrithik Roshan, for Lewis Berger Design Stories concept. BPL believes the concept will contribute in a big way in the medium to long term perspective. The company will have 40 studios inside existing stores across the city to showcase the concept that aims to offer designer themes in paints long with furnishing and furniture. "Slowly we will launch this concept in other cities across the country," Roy said.

Under the arrangement, Berger will get commission for non-paint products booked through Berger stores. "We had to give association fee but that is not much," Roy said. Till September this year, the company expanded by 18 per cent. There will be brownfield expansion in Rishra (West Bengal), Goa and greenfield in Andhra Pradesh. The company is also setting up an industrial paints facility near Pune at a cost of Rs 15-20 crore, Roy said . He added beside export to Russia, some solvent-based paints would be exported to Poland. Berger has production facilities in both Russia and Poland.
