The Thane-based firm, which produces Vitamin D3 in active pharmaceutical ingredient form, is now looking for tie-ups to manufacture the product in various other forms, including injectables, capsules and tablets.
"Our plan is to go for complete forward integration and to get into the formulation side of Vitamin D3..We are in discussion with three domestic firms for tie-ups," Fermenta Biotech Ltd (FBL) Managing Director Satish Varma told PTI.

He declined to disclose the identity of the three firms but added that the company is also in talks with a European firm for a marketing tie-up to export the Vitamin D3 in finished form to Europe.
FBL manufactures cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) for onward use in global pharmaceutical, food, veterinary and feed industries.
The company has three manufacturing sites at Kullu, Dahej and Thane and it had posted revenues of over Rs 100 crore for 2011-12. It also offers enzymatic biotechnology products used in developing antibiotics and biotechnology-based solutions to environmental pollution.
FBL, which developed a host of novel enzymes used in making intermediates for a broad range of semi-synthetic antibiotic intermediates, has also developed an enzyme for manufacturing the finished semi synthetic antibiotic Amoxicillin.
Commenting on the biotechnology vertical, Varma said the company expects the segment to be a main growth driver for the company in the next three years.
"Going forward we would like to see enzymes part of the business to account for 50-60 percent of our revenues by 2015," Varma said.
The company currently gets around 80 percent of its revenues from API division, 18 percent from enzymes and the rest from environmental solutions vertical.
Varma said the company gets over 75 percent of its revenues from exports, with its products being exported to over 30 countries.
