EY has named Kotak Mahindra Bank Executive vice-chairman & managing director Uday Kotak its 'World Entrepreneur Of The Year' for 2014, for the award, announced in Monaco on Saturday.
Kotak was chosen from among 60 finalists from 51 countries, each of whom had been named EY 'Entrepreneur Of The Year' in home country.

Speaking to CNBC-TV18's manging editor, Shereen Bhan he said, "I am truly honoured and I accept this award on behalf of 1.2 billion Indians with all humility."
He further said, this award has come at a time when India is looking to make its mark in the global scheme of things.
According to him, the Indian story has tremendous opportunity and more so for the banking sector. So it is an exciting to build a financial institution in India. "A bank for the future must be built on prudence, simplicity and humility," said Kotak.

The company's trailing 12-month (TTM) EPS was at Rs 19.50 per share as per the quarter ended March 2014. The stock's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio was 46.13. The latest book value of the company is Rs 159.34 per share. At current value, the price-to-book value of the company is 5.64.
